Creative Courses
With my own rigorous and unique educational background, including the diverse classes I've had the opportunity to take, I became equipped with a broad variety of skills that could be applied across various subjects and vastly sharpened my problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
With this knowledge in my backpack and the passion to share it, I've constructed kid-friendly session plans and/or curriculums in subject areas such as Chess, Computer Skills, Media Production, Performing Arts, Book Club, Cooking, and Art, that your student is bound to enjoy while strengthening their technical and creativity skills.
Computers
From the basics of Google Classroom and PowerPoint Documents to advanced concepts like Computer Aided Design, students will have the opportunity to strengthen their typing, technical, research and troubleshooting skills. This is a great course for students who struggled technologically with Virtual Learning, or students interested in improving their Technological Skills.
Chess
Chess teaches students strategic thinking and patience while strengthening focus and problem solving skills. The rules may be simple to learn, but cornering your opponent requires thinking steps in advance and executing every move perfectly in accordance. Check!
Theatre
Theatre has many branches to explore, from live theatre to movies and television production. Students will be fully immersed in the art of Theatre Production starting from the history, to the behind-the-stage work, to the on-stage performance. This is perfect for students interested in chorus, band, acting, dance, writing, art, or backstage production.
Book Club
Literature is a wondrous gift that opens the minds of many young readers and brings people together. Close reading is a vital skill that emphasizes critical thinking while improving vocabulary. Book Club promotes consistent close reading and rigorous discussion while studying timeless stories. Perfect for bookworms this summer!
Media Production
Allow your child's creative side to shine while they practice technical and computer skills editing and composing media for projects in different genres. Students will explore the production of music videos, short films, and television, and learn about the behind the scenes necessary for it all to come together.
Get Cookin'
From measuring ingredients to baking in the oven, this course strengthens your student's math abilities while teaching an important, real life skill - all while having fun. Students will also get a taste of culture and history as we explore different cuisines!
Public Speaking
In this course, students have fun writing and delivering passionate speeches while learning to speak confidently and with expression. This skill is not only vital for successful performance during your child's academic career, but also a vital skill for socializing throughout life. You can expect to see significant improvements in vocabulary as well.
